"One thing I've noticed over the years in my practice is that there's a lot of misinformation and lack of awareness around concussion. If you know the up-to-date information on concussions, it can make a big difference in the recovery, which is why new resources and videos such as this are so important to Nova Scotians." - Dr. Tina Atkinson, Sport and Exercise Medicine Physician
Concussion Awareness Video and Return to Sport Guidelines
In partnership with the Brain Injury Association of Nova Scotia we are excited to launch a new concussion awareness video, "The First Few Days After Concussion" featuring Sport and Exercise Medicine Physician Dr. Tina Atkinson, as well as a refreshed concussion resource webpage including the new return to sport guidelines.
The Clean Hill Initiative are two safety videos created by the US Ski and Snowboard association to demonstrate best practices for handling and storage of ski course equipment on an active racing or training slope. These videos are recommended viewing for all coaches, volunteers and officials who are working near ski racing activities.
